Romik did a version for the Spectrum almost two years ago, which was very good. In this version there are several speed selections and you can alter the difficulty by increasing the number of 'enemy aircrafts', number of meteors or the height of the buildings between 0 and 9.\r\n\r\nYou are flying an aircraft which drops bombs and fires missiles. On each pass the plane gets lower, so the only way to survive is to raze the city's skyscrapers. Meteors and aircraft are the other hazards. You can only have one bomb dropping at a time and one missile in the air at a time.\r\n\r\nCOMMENTS\r\n\r\nControl keys: M for missiles, B for bombs\r\nJoystick: none needed\r\nKeyboard play: responsive\r\nUse of colour: average\r\nGraphics: fair, but jerky\r\nSound: poor\r\nSkill levels: 10 speeds and three variables with 10 options\r\nLives: 1\r\nFeatures: 1 or 2 players","ReviewerComments":["This is the old bomb dropping game - there were games of this type about for other computers over two years ago. That's a long time in this business. Why bring out more now? Even at £2.99 it's poor value - probably not even worth the waste of cassette tape.\r\r\nUnknown","I think this is the best of the Pulsonic games I have seen. The game itself is pretty old, and the graphics of this one are jerky and not very well defined, but the game type is quite enjoyable, and this version manages to be quite hard to get through. The various difficulty options make it reasonably interesting. With this game I think I would generally recommend it as reasonable value for money, and a reasonably playable game too.\r\r\nUnknown","Mission Omega plays quite well and may appeal to some players who haven't seen any other version. But I think it is outdated. On top of that, compared to Spectrum games these days, this is pretty simple in graphics and sound. At £2.99, however, it does represent fairly good value, although I would rather pay twice as much and have something like Atic Atac.\r\nUnknown"],"OverallSummary":"General Rating: Felt to be one of the best of a rather poor offering.","Page":"36","Denied":false,"Award":"Not Awarded","Reviewers":[{"Name":"Unknown","Score":"","ScoreSuffix":""},{"Name":"Unknown","Score":"","ScoreSuffix":""},{"Name":"Unknown","Score":"","ScoreSuffix":""}],"ScreenshotText":[{"Text":"Genocide rains down from the sky as you fly Mission Omega - could it be the last of its kind?"}],"BlurbText":[],"TranscriptBy":"Chris Bourne","ReviewScores":[{"Header":"Use of Computer","Score":"60%","Text":""},{"Header":"Graphics","Score":"55%","Text":""},{"Header":"Playability","Score":"53%","Text":""},{"Header":"Getting Started","Score":"58%","Text":""},{"Header":"Addictive Qualities","Score":"45%","Text":""},{"Header":"Value For Money","Score":"50%","Text":""},{"Header":"Overall","Score":"54%","Text":""}],"CompilationReviewScores":[]},{"Issue":{"Name":"Personal Computer Games Issue 7, Jun 1984","Price":"£0.75","ReleaseDate":"1984-05-17","Editor":"Chris Anderson","TotalPages":132,"HasCoverTape":false,"FlannelPanel":"Editor: Chris Anderson\r\nProduction Editor: Roderick George\r\nArt Editor: Ian Findlay\r\nTechnical Editor: Stuart Cooke\r\nStaff Writers: Steve Cooke, Peter Connor\r\nEditorial Assistant: Samantha Hemens\r\nSoftware Consultant: Tony Takoushi\r\nCartoons: Kipper Williams\r\nProgram Control Guardians: Jeff Riddle\r\nScreenshots: Chris Bell\r\nCover Illustration: Pat Weedon\r\nGroup Editor: Cyndy Miles\r\nArt Director: Jim Dansie\r\nGroup Publisher: John Cade\r\nPublisher: Mark Eisen\r\nAssistant Publishing Manager: Sue Clements\r\nPublishing Secretary: Jenny Dunne\r\nAdvertising Manager: Herbert Wright\r\nAssistant Advertisement Manager: Jan Martin\r\nGroup Advertisement Manager: Mike Caroll\r\nAdvertisement Production: Simon Carter\r\nAdvertisement Assistant: Coraline Turner\r\nSales Executives: Joey Davies, Marion O'Neill\r\n\r\nPublished by VNU Business Publications, [redacted]. The one where you have to destroy the buildings by dropping bombs one at a time. Well, Mission Omega is a version of this.\r\n\r\nOK, so there are fuel dumps on top of some of the buildings. You can fire missiles in the direction you are moving. And there are also meteors and enemy aircraft in the air. Even with all this added no more excitement or lasting interest is offered than in the original game.\r\n\r\nYou have only two control keys, one to fire the missiles and one to drop the bomb. Your height decreases as you move across the screen taking you nearer and nearer to the top of the buildings.\r\n\r\nIt is possible to change the difficulty of the game. You can change the speed (or is it the jerkiness?) at which you move, the height of the buildings, and how many enemy aircraft appear.\r\n\r\nThe only good things offered by Mission Omega are a bright and colourful picture and a low price tag.","ReviewerComments":[],"OverallSummary":"","Page":"61","Denied":false,"Award":"Not Awarded","Reviewers":[{"Name":"Stuart N Cooke","Score":"4","ScoreSuffix":"/10"}],"ScreenshotText":[],"BlurbText":[],"TranscriptBy":"Chris Bourne","ReviewScores":[{"Header":"Graphics","Score":"4/10","Text":""},{"Header":"Sound","Score":"3/10","Text":""},{"Header":"Originality","Score":"2/10","Text":""},{"Header":"Lasting Interest","Score":"3/10","Text":""},{"Header":"Overall","Score":"4/10","Text":""}],"CompilationReviewScores":[]}]}]
